Dr Sam Behjati is a Group Leader at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, Cambridge (UK). His group focuses on investigating the fetal origin of childhood cancer. They use traditional phylogenetic approaches to reconstruct the early fetal history of tumours whilst applying cutting-edge single cell technologies to define the developmental origin of tumours in quantitative molecular terms. Dr Behjati remains clinically active as an Honorary Consultant  Paediatric Oncologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
